We've Come A Long Way, Baby!
On today, MLK Day, I can't help but be a little hopeful that we are, in fact, progressing as a culture, a society, a nation. I want to believe that Dr. King would be pleased to see that, in this political season, we have not only a black man running for President of the United States, but a woman as well.
Oh, these are troubled times, to be sure. Leaders are hard to find. But, you know, I think maybe they always have been scarce.

... although, I'm embarrassed to say, I always thought that first line said "David Niven", not Abraham. And I always wondered why he was included. After all, he didn't do anything.
He was a good actor, though. But he didn't free people.
And another thing, Abraham was, like, 120 or something when he died, so he wasn't young. at all.
But it always was one of my favorite songs. Even though I just totally "picked it apart"...
As much as I dislike GWB, things could always be worse.
At least that's what I tell myself.
